Adapt or perish
"Massive unemployment is inevitable"
Whether we like it or not, massive unemployment is going to happen. The more we advance in technology, the more automation we have. It is inevitable that this progress will continue and its effects are becoming more apparent after day.
Unfortunately, the future is not bright in the way we are currently doing things. The use of money as a means to distribute resources is outdated and not suitable for what lies ahead. To make this simple to understand: as automation advances, people are being replaced. A more correct evolution as a civilization would be to free them from the chains of paid labor, giving them more time to enjoy life, nurture their creativity, and contribute to society without the corrupting influence of money. However, instead of being fairly compensated due to increased automation, people are being marginalized, as a result, the world is becoming progressively impoverished, while the general public feels like there's no enough money in the world to advance, we have in fact more money than ever in the human history, the real issue is lack of employment opportunities and so, lack of money circulation. This trend will persist until humanity faces an unprecedented global crisis. In simple terms, there will come a time when only the wealthy will have access to money, while ordinary people will not. Eventually, money will cease to circulate, leading to the collapse of civilization.
After that, the situation becomes even more grim. Whenever a civilization falls apart, the next phase is usually marked by the establishment of a dictatorship or a religious autocracy. It will then require a considerable amount of time, perhaps even centuries, to reach the same level of development we are currently at. Only then can we begin to advance once more in the fields of science, technology, and automation, until we inevitably encounter another collapse of civilization, repeating the cycle once again, and so forth...
In order for our civilization to advance without suffering the negative consequences of significant changes, we must adapt our tools to fit our new needs. This means changing our perspective on money. Money is simply a tool for organizing and managing resources, and it has served its purpose up until now. It's important to recognize that money is just a piece of paper and nothing more. What we truly need is not money itself, but the ability to effectively manage our resources. Only then can we start progressing in giant steps without the risk of collapsing in the way.
The future is bright, but only if we choose so.
